Lindsey Graham endorses Jeb Bush

From Charleston, South Carolina –

The morning after the sixth Republican debate in the race for President, one-time GOP candidate Lindsey Graham made a surprise announcement, as he endorsed Jeb Bush, arguing the former Florida Governor would be the right choice for the U.S. military and veterans.

“Jeb Bush is going to be a nominee who can win an election that we can’t afford to lose,” said Sen. Graham (R-SC).

Graham had never been able to catch fire during the preliminary debates in 2015, as he routinely accused Donald Trump of being a terrible choice for the Republican Party.

“South Carolina is going to be a really important primary,” said Bush at a news conference.

“It always seems to be that way,” Bush added.

“South Carolina is gonna reset this race,” Graham vowed – though few in the Palmetto State see Bush right now as a contender.

“Look, this is a big deal nationally,” Bush told reporters.

But since Graham had rarely registered in the polls, the endorsement didn’t seem to be one that would change the dynamic of this race.

Today is January 15 – on February 15, we can look back and see whether Graham’s choice made a difference.
